  • 24 December 1999: This web and news server will be off-line from 31 December 1999 to 2 January 2000. We're confident that we won't experience any rollover related problems. OGI's IT department has, however, decided to shut down the campus routers during this period.

  • 2 August 1999: Two new 3D models added to the Fluent Speech Technologies Rendering Engine.

  • 1 August 1999: The installation program has been updated to support download through HTTP proxy servers that require authentication. The patch count has grown to 16.

  • 12 July 1999: Six patches are now available for 2.0b2. We've revised sever al of the tutorials and have added a new video driver help page and an animation speed guide.

  • 4 July 1999: Official beta 2 of the Speech Toolkit is now available The large differences between this and the previous release make a "Web Update" of the preliminary beta imprac tical. If you did install the preliminary release, please uninstall and replace it with the official beta.
    We have added new documentation and RAD tutorials.

  • 3 May 1999: We've added seven more Toolkit patches over the last couple of days. Please be sure to run the "Web Update" program to retrieve these. Also note that the license keys shipped with the preliminary version of the toolkit sofware expire on the 15th of May 1999. Our registration system and a new release will be available before this date. A final "Web Update" for the preliminary version will bring it up to date with the official beta 2.

  • 22 April 1999: Two more patches added (these address problems with RAD captioning when used with the animated face.)

  • 21 April 1999: Five patches are available to people who've downloaded beta 2. Connect to the Internet, and then select: Start -> Speech Toolkit -> Web Update in order to download them.

  • Publications page updated on 8 Apr 1999.

  • After the release of beta 2, we will engage in further bug fixes as they are reported. Version 2.0b3 will follow, and we hope to have a final version 2.0 release by June 1999. There will be releases of the Toolkit made for Intel x86 Linux and Solaris this year.
