Overview

After decades of intensive research activity, the technologies that allow humans to interact with machines using spoken language are finally moving into serious commercial applications. Speech technology is hot. Yet, along with the grand promises of speech applications have come numerous false claims of technology capabilities.

The CSLU Speech Technology Symposium 2000 encompassed:
